Editorial Policy

How we aim to keep calculator explanations useful, transparent and accurate.

Calculator-first content

The primary purpose of each calculator page is to answer the user's pay question. Explanatory text is added to clarify formulas, assumptions and situations where a simple conversion can be misleading.

Sources

Basic arithmetic formulas are shown directly. When we discuss legal or regulatory concepts such as federal overtime rules, we prefer official government sources and link to them on the relevant page.

Corrections

If a calculation, explanation or source appears wrong or outdated, visitors can report it through the contact page. Corrections are prioritized when they could change the meaning of a result.

Programmatic pay pages

Pages such as “$25 an hour is how much a year?” are only useful when they answer the specific numerical question with clear pay-period breakdowns, assumptions and links to the underlying calculator. We do not treat a changed number alone as sufficient value.

Advertising

Advertising does not change calculator formulas or editorial conclusions. The calculator and explanation should remain easy to distinguish from any advertising placed on the site.
